We have a number of computers that are used for a variety of purposes related to
our work, research, storage, and play. We have a colourful in-house network
monitoring system that represents computers via icons. Shadowdancer created
avatars to represent each computer, and you can view them on this page.
Obviously, we don't have all of the computers listed here running. Some of them
have been retired, dismantled, sold, or scrapped - but the avatars will remain
here. Many of our systems are named after characters from the books we write, so
in some cases the profile for that character is here as well.
systems have had their avatars 'upgraded' when Shadowdancer felt like investing
more time into them. The avatars have been classed as Type I through Type V,
depending on when they were drawn and what resolution they were created in.
Older systems tend to have lower resolution avatars, as you would expect.
This page is listed in alphabetical order, not chronologically. We'll fix that
later. This page has no really good reason for existance - it was used to ensure
that the site validated with multiple nested tables.
This page can take a
very long time to load - depending on your connection - as the avatars for newer
systems are scaled by Conky (our favourite system monitoring tool) from very
Active Systems In Use
This section lists the systems that we are actively using, and the avatars
currently assigned to them.
Some of these systems also had older avatars
- they will be found in the table at the bottom of this page.
